PAULA JAMES MEMORIAL AWARD
VIKING CLASSIC OUTSTANDING ATHLETE

Paula James, shown here and below, was a 3 time state champion here at Lake Stevens, winning the 100 yard dash in both 1978 and '79, and the 220 yard dash in 1978. She set state AA records in both the 100 and 220 in 1978. Paula graduated from Lake Stevens in 1979, but was killed in a traffic accident while on a family vacation that summer. Lake Stevens High School is honored to remember Paula, and the fine example she set as both a student and athlete, by naming the Viking Classic outstanding athlete award after her.
