ASB ASSOCIATED STUDENT BODY) CARD
ASB cards may be purchased through mai-in registration in August. After the opening of school, ASB cards may be
purchased in the business office during lunch or before and after school. The student government through the ASB
Constitution has determined that all who participate in interscholastic sports,
or in any organized student activity receiving ASB funds, are expected to hold
an ASB card. An ASB card provides the
holder the following privileges: free entrance to all home sports events and
reduced entrance fees to games and ASB sponsored dances. Students
must have their ID card on them at all times during the school day and
must provide that ID card to a staff member when asked to do so. You may email ASB officers at ASB@lkstevens.wednet.edu
PEP ASSEMBLIES Pep assemblies are normally held in the main gym. Students are to sit with their classes (10,
11, and 12) and are NOT to bring
backpacks or large bags into the gym.
Appropriate enthusiastic behavior is expected from those students
attending pep assemblies. No electronic
devices are allowed out during any assemblies and that includes cell phones and
I-Pods. Those students not wishing to
attend a pep assembly may either check into the library (limit of 50 students)
or they may assemble in the cafeteria and stay there until the assembly is
finished. Protocols for the library are
the normal library protocols. Protocols
for the cafeteria are to SIT QUIETLY on chairs and behave in an appropriate
manner. Students in the cafeteria are
NOT to play hacky sack or be involved in general foolish and immature
behavior. Cafeteria students are also
not to hangout near any of the cafeteria doors.
Students choosing the cafeteria alternative must sign a cafeteria
protocol contract and follow all cafeteria protocols. Students who do not follow cafeteria
protocols will be remove immediately.
For students in the library and cafeteria, the bells do not dismiss you
from those venues. You may leave for
your next class once it becomes apparent that the pep assembly itself is over
and when general large number student movement begins towards upper campus from
the gym area. Inability to follow those
protocols for the pep assembly, the cafeteria, or the library can result in
being banned from that venue for a set amount of time and issued some form of
disciplinary action.
EDUCATIONAL/GUEST SPEAKER/PRESENTATION
ASSEMBLIES These assemblies can be held in the main gym, the cafeteria, the PAC, the
auxiliary gym, the library, or any other LSHS venue. Behavior protocols for these assemblies are
much different than those for pep assemblies.
At this type of assembly students are expected to sit quietly and treat
those making the presentation with dignity and respect that they deserved. Students are expected NOT to socialize with
their friends, not to use any electronic device including cell phones, I-Pods,
etc, and not to make any type of undue commotion.
FIELD TRIPS/PERMISSION
FORM To be eligible to participate in a school-sponsored field trip, students
are required to turn in parent permission forms available in attendance office. In addition, teachers or programs may have
additional protocols that need to be followed.
LSHS LIBRARY The Library and its’ Computer Lab are open before school
from
PUBLICITY AND POSTERS The activity advisor must approve any publicity for elections, dances, or
other school activities. The students
who take the responsibility for putting up the signs must also take down the
signs and tape. Posters should not be
placed on painted surfaces as the tape removes the paint or on windows of doors
or display cases. Organizations and
clubs may put posters in approved areas only after receiving approval from the
activity advisor and principal. All other posters or notices must be approved
by the administration and stamped prior to being placed on the school bulletin
boards and school walls.
SCHOOL DANCES School dances are a function of the ASB and as such are for only LSHS
students. The only dances LSHS students
may bring a gruest to are the Homecoming, Tolo, and Prom dances. Any student wishing to bring a guest must
register the guest during school hours in the office prior to the dance. Students may bring only one guest. All guests are subject to the same rules as
LSHS students. Student hosts are
responsible for their guests' actions and will receive the consequences of
their guest’s misbehavior. An official
guest dance form must be completed and returned to the office prior to the
dance. All dances will end promptly at
YEARBOOKS Yearbooks may be purchased before school and at
lunch for the amount specified for that year.
They will be sold in the business office through mid-November, but we cannot guarantee purchase after that
time.
