This course is to help students who need to review basic math skills. The areas covered will be multiplication, division, addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals, U.S. Standard units of measurements and metrics. An additional focus will be mathematical thinking and strategic problem solving.

This course is to help students to develop the basic skills to understand Social Studies through the use of non-fiction reading and writing skills. Areas to be covred include Washington State History, World Geography, United States History and American/World Issues. This course may be taken for English and/or Social Studies Credit.

Prerequisite: Recommendation from IEP team and case manager
This is a 2-period block of literacy, math, social studies, science and study skills for IEP students who need intensive support to prepare for participation in general education. Students are individually scheduled for subjects basedon IEP qualifacation areas. This lab is staffed at a smaller student/teacher ratio for those who need more intensive support.

This course is designed to teach a set of study skills and self-advocacy that can be applied in content area general education classes. In addition, this course provides accommodations for student who need additional time for test taking, a quiet study enviornment and/or additional work time.

SEV 131 Adaptive Physical Education

Prerequisite: IEP and teachers permission
Adaptive Physical Education will help students who have an IEP to improve their health, fitness and mobility to enhance their everyday lives. This class will require permission through the Special Education Department and Physical Education Department.

SEV 216 CRT

Community Resource Training allows students, who have an IEP, to spend one or two periods out in the community learning about a job. These are unpaid positions, but allow students to gain job skills and possible job contacts in the community.

SEV 502 Co-op Work Credit
Grade: 10,11,12
Length: 1 semester
Credits: .5 every 180 hours
Prerequisite: IEP
IEP students who are working can earn work credit by signing up with Ms. Smethers. Students must work 180 hours to earn .5 credits. Jobs must be verified by pay stub and employer.
Teacher or counselor permission only.

Life Skills Program

This program teaches identified students life skills in English, Math, Home Living, Physical
Education, Science, Job Training, and Careers. An IEP and instructor permission is required.
