Post-Secondary Costs

No matter where you decide to enroll for training beyond high school, you will have expenses which consist of both direct educational and living expenses. The expenses usually are made up of:

        Tuition and fees
        Books and supplies
        Room and board
        Personal expenses
        Transportation costs

Another factor which should be considered is the cost of medical care.

Room and board expenses may vary depending on the choice of residence hall, single or double room selection, or off-campus living.

You may live at home and commute, in which case transportation costs will probably be considerably higher while room and board will be lower.

Application for housing should be made as soon as the institution allows, as some are quite short on housing facilities. Check the particular catalog for more information.

Usually, costs for housing sponsored by the institution are payable at the beginning of each term although some allow installment payments. Again, check the particular catalog.

Some trade schools require the purchase of a complete set of appropriate, quality tools prior to the beginning of training. Again, check it out before committing.
