Sherwood Learning Center in Lake Stevens is looking for some senior guys in need of community service hours to help with maintenance this Saturday the 10th and the following Saturday. Call 425.334.4071to sign up before Friday! Ask for Laura or Kaitylin.
- The GAR Cemetary in Snohomish is looking for volunteers to hlep on Friday the 23rd (afterschool) to hlep place small American flags on U.S. Veteran's graves for Memorial Day. They also need volunteers from 5/12 - 5/23 to help hang large flags. Call 360.568.4090 to sign up or for directions.
- Help with the annual Glenwood Carnival. Set up on May 16th afterschool, or volunteer to work at the carnival on May 17th from 11am - 3pm. Email dlacwilliams@comcast.net to sign up, or call Laura Williams at 425.397.6304.
- Lake Stevens Haggen is looking for volunteers every Saturday from 10:30am to 4pm (can also do shorter shifts if needed). This Saturday help children decorate cakes for Mother's Day and next Saturday help with the Food Drive. Call Simona @ 425.377.7100 to sign up. Remember, you MUST sign up BEFORE volunteering!

- Snohomish County PUD is currently accepting applications for their 2008 Summer Hire
Program. Positions include: Engineering (Electrical or Civil), administrative, Information Technology or craft maintenance. Must be 18 years old, currently enrolled in a full time (12 credit hour minimum) undergraduate, graduate or vocational program, working toward a degree or certification. - Need a job? Local family now hiring for summer yard work at their Lake Stevens home. All tools needed will be provided, includes mowing lawn, weeding, etc., after school and weekend hours through the summer. See Ms. LaFortune in the Career Center for details.
JUST FOR SENIORS
- If you picked up an application for any of the Lake Stevens Education Foundation scholarships, please come by the Career Center for an additional form you need for this application.
- SAT, ACT, PSAT, ASVAB testing!! Will you be taking one of these tests in the near future? LSHS has a free online test prep program available to students. Stop by the Career Center for log on directions and passwords you will need to access the site.
- Juniors and Seniors~ The college and university admissions representatives are getting ready to start their visits to LSHS. Be sure to check the bulletin or stop by the Career Center to check if the college or university you are interested in has someone schedule for a visit yet. If not, ask Ms. LaFortune about scheduling a visit by a rep from that school.
